1. Introduction

  • Statement of services provided: The company delivers 1, 2, and 5-day training sessions in public speaking, 2-day Advanced Training the Trainer, leadership and management, speech writing, and interview skills.

2. Definitions

  • The company is College of Public Speaking 2006 Ltd.
  • The client receives the services requested by the company. The client can be an individual or a company.

3. Diversity, Equality & Inclusion

All courses respect the law regarding the above. What DEI means in the classroom is discussed.

4. Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974

There is a discussion on the subject outlining dangers at work and the roles and responsibilities of trainers to engender the highest standards of safety and care.

6. Fees and Payment

  • Courses, fees, and dates are advertised on the website.
  • Payment is made in advance unless the client is offered a waiver.
  • The College of Public Speaking rarely cancels its courses. However, occasionally, a student is unable to make their chosen date. If the student requests a date change, that change is offered if available without hesitation or offered an alternative date. A confirmation of the new date and joining instructions follow.
  • Clients unfamiliar with King's Cross are sent an amenities document (maps, hotels, local places of interest), which usually arrives with the Joining Instructions.

7. Participant Requirements

  • Eligibility criteria – our classes are suitable for all ages and professional disciplines. Diversity is a welcome variable in the classroom.
  • Pre-course preparation and requirements – not required. Only bring a pen and notebook. We have spares if required.
  • Attendance policy – it’s expected that students complete the entire course.
  • Course times - unless otherwise stated, courses begin at 09.30 and end around 17.00. Lunchtime is 45 minutes.

8. Intellectual Property

  • Ownership of training materials – all handouts and post-course materials are copyrighted to the College of Public Speaking 2006 Ltd.
  • Restrictions on copying and distribution – the documents are for personal use.

9. Confidentiality

  • Handling of any confidential information shared during the training.
  • What happens in class stays in class. There are many creative and spontaneous activities in the classroom. In the development process, everybody deserves their privacy.
  • The College of Public Speaking respects GDPR and does not share any personal data, names, addresses, emails, course videos with third party organisations.

10. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

  • The steps for resolving disputes depend on the issue's complexity, but the College of Public Speaking aims to resolve any problems expeditiously in all reasonable circumstances.
